Initiate the Count Down

Full throttle as we dive into the final week before the Denver opening of A Curious Show. Eric makes plates to be printed on the gallery walls (yes, we are suckers for using printmaking techniques in any way possible). Gretchen fixes antique frames and lays out the show in little models of the gallery. Brad battles printers and his own nerves as he dreams up bigger and bigger ideas for the show with total disregard to time, money and laws of gravity.

Super heros of printmaking? Probably not. But it's still going to be kick ass.

We want you to come.
It All Begins Friday, October 6th 6-9pm at

Cutting, Kerning, and Burning

Friday, September 15, 2006, 3:56 PM

Preparations for the show continue: Gretchen has been cutting up prints and raiding the antique frame collection, Eric has been taking pictures and kerning type, Brad has been burning the midnight oil, buying things, designing things, planning things, and looking at the calendar whilst exhibiting a facial expression somewhere in the hazy space between anticipation and fear. Oh it will be a beautiful show. We're excited.

In The Flesh, or, Cranking Up the Hype Machine

We at Pressure Printing love the internet as much as anyone else. Heck, unless you have visited us in Denver, we only exist in that magical world of html. For as much as we enjoy our virtual inhabitance we have always wanted to share the detail and tactile qualities of the Pressure Printing projects. Unfortunately your iSight doesn't let you actually touch the embossed covers of the Portrait series, or untie the suede ribbon of The Four Reasons, or even unfold and examine the tiny details in Tactiturn. Well, the exhibit at Open Press Gallery in Denver and Copro Nason Gallery in Santa Monica is going to change all that.

Although we don't know yet if you'll actually be able to personally fondle the projects, "A Curious Show" will be the perfect place to examine in person what really goes into each edition.
