We got press!

Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 8:48 AM

Oh yeah. That’s right. Our new press has arrived. And despite the problems posed by a semi truck larger than our gate, we persevered and managed to get the 1300 pound baby in the studio (with only a little damage to a tree and the fence). We have project after project lined up for our new family addition. What joy! (And just a little shout out to our small, now not so needed, Charles Brand press. You served us well and we will miss you. Thanks for all the good times.)

In other news, Scott Musgrove’s Portraits Series print set was released and Tim Biskup’s is fast approaching (please excuse the delay). Eric is busy with his new camera and doing some kick ass things on his pride and joy, the Vandercook. He also set up a way for us to listen to lots of great music, very loudly if needed, in the studio. Our ears are happy.

With so many very cool and exciting projects on the horizon and with the new press, Pressure Printing feels unstoppable. Brad is designing like a maniac. But even with his 10+ hour days and weekends Eric and I still go into Brad’s office just to nag him for these projects. “Patience,” he tells us, “patience.” We can hardly hold it together.

Brad takes great care in placing the press in just the right spot . . . carefully, carefully . . . don't run over Eric . . .

Well, we got it in here and in the right place. . . but now the question is how to get 1300 pounds off the palette? . . . and Gretchen does not look very into lifting 1300 pounds . . .

Safty First. No hands in the press, kids.

Brad takes a moment to envision all the splendor ahead . . .

Little side note: yes, it is snowing . . . again. We know the rest of the country has felt the season’s torture, but damn it, we're not used to all this constant winter. What ever happened to our 60 degree Februarys? Oh, how we dream of spring . . .
